"Lou Grant" (1977-1982)
After being fired as news director at WJM television in Minneapolis, Lou Grant relocates to California to be city editor for the Los Angeles Tribune on the advice from his old friend Charlie Hume, the newspaper's managing editor...Mr. Grant's adventure began 43 years ago today. On an interesting note, while "The Mary Tyler Moore Show" was a thirty minute sitcom this series was a one hour drama thus making Lou Grant a character that appeared in both categories.
Asner in 1977 with Nancy Marchand (1928-2000) who played the Tribune's owner and publisher Mrs. Margaret Pynchon and Mason Adams (1919-2005) who played managing editor Charlie Hume.
