The original series run was from 10/29/1993 to 5/11/2001 producing 178 episodes. It was a spin-off of "Jake and the Fatman." The episode called "It Never Entered My Mind" aired on March 20, 1991. This episode was followed by three made for television films "Diagnosis of Murder" (1/5/1992), "The House on Sycamore Street" (5/1/1992) and "A Twist of the Knife" (2/13/1993).
Following the conclusion of the series two more made for television movies were produced "Town Without Pity" (2/6/2002) and "Without Warning" (4/26/2002).
The series also starred Scott Baio, Victoria Rowell, Barry Van Dyke, Michael Tucci, Delores Hall and Charlie Schlatter.
TRIVIA:
In the episode "Deadly Mirage" (5/4/2001) Dr. Mark Sloan's birthday is given as December 13, 1933. Dick Van Dyke was also born on December 13th only in 1925.
