"Smallville" - "Crusade" - September 22, 2004

 When "Smallville" began its fourth season in the fall of 2004 the premiere episode saw the addition of Erica Durance to the cast as the always sassy Lois Lane.  By that point Durance was the fourth actress to portray Lois Lane on television, her predecessors were Phyllis Coates and Noel Neill on the "Adventures of Superman" between 1952 and 1958 and Teri Hatcher on "Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman" from 1993 to 1997.  Durance appeared as a special guest star in thirteen season four episodes before being added to the regular cast in season five and remaining until the series ended following its tenth season on May 13, 2011.
