 In this flashback, season two episode Lucy and Ethel compete against each other to be election president of The Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League.  This episode, which originally aired on this day sixty-eight years ago, featured the first appearance of Doris Singleton as Lucy's frienemy Lillian Appleby (the character would later be named Carolyn)
