"Batman" - "The Joker is Wild" - January 26, 1966

 

Fifty-five years ago today audiences watched the first live action appearance of...The Joker.  Cesar Romero appeared in twenty-two "Batman" adventures during the series entire three year run.  In his first appearance the Joker strikes back at Batman by creating his own utility belt. 

Fun Fact:

The Joker appeared in more episodes than any of the other bat-villains.  Burgess Meredith as The Penguin comes in a close second, he was in twenty-one episodes.
