"Dallas" - "Welcome Home Mama!" - November 9, 1984

 At the end of the seventh season of "Dallas" the role of the beloved Miss Ellie Ewing Farlow was vacated by long time portrayer Barbara Bel Geddes.  The following fall, on November 9, 1984, Donna Reed made her debut as the new Miss Ellie.  Sadly things did not work out and Reed only played the role in twenty-three episodes during the 1984-1985 season.  Thirty-six years ago today in the episode "Homecoming" audiences saw Donna Reed as Miss Ellie for the first time.
